Areas to explore from Bodrum on a sailing holiday
One of the best areas to explore from Bodrum is the Gulf of Gokova, or further south to the Gulf of Datcha where there are many fishing villages and hidden coves.
If historical sites are your interest, then Cleopatra's island, Knidos and Patara are great places to visit on your vacation.
Another choice for your sailing holiday is to head north to the Gulf of Gulluk, and visit of the many islands around turgutreis, or alternatively head to villages like Gumusluk.
Weather & Winds on the Bodrum peninsular
During high season, winds are strongest in the afternoons and normally offshore, North-westerly at 15/20 twenty knots. During Spring and Autumn the weather is warm and sunny, and the winds shift more to the west.
